Search Forsyth County Inmate Records

Forsyth County inmate records are searched through the county jail roster for people currently held in local custody. A Forsyth County jail roster search can help confirm whether a person has been booked, what public charge and bond fields are listed, and whether a court date or expected release field appears. The county roster is built for jail custody, not for every past arrest or every state, federal, or immigration hold. To look up Forsyth County inmates online, start with the sheriff's public roster and use the fallback channels when a name is missing or the record has changed.

Forsyth County Jail Roster

The official current-custody search is the Forsyth County P2C Inmate Inquiry, a Police To Citizen module linked by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. It covers people booked into the Forsyth County Jail, which is operated by the sheriff's office under Sheriff Ron H. Freeman. The same P2C platform also includes a Recent Arrests module and a Most Wanted module, but those are not the same thing as a live current-inmate list. The inmate inquiry is the best starting point when the search is for someone who may be in the jail now.

Forsyth County uses a restricted initial roster search. A blank public roster dump is not the normal path. The first search requires at least a last name, then the catalog view can show matching records and additional controls. The sheriff's public disclaimer is important here: inmate information changes quickly, can be updated periodically, may contain factual errors, and should not be relied on for legal action. An arrest entry is also not a conviction. Use the roster as a custody lead, then confirm time-sensitive release, bond, court, and transfer details with the office that controls the record.

The jail roster should not be used as a statewide prison database. A person sentenced to Georgia Department of Corrections custody may remain in the county jail for a time while awaiting transfer, but once the transfer occurs, the search moves to GDC. Federal and immigration custody follow still different systems. The county roster is local. That boundary prevents many false "no record" conclusions.

Use Forsyth County Inmate Search

Start with the sheriff's jail page or go straight to the P2C catalog. The initial restricted form is built around the last name. If the last name is common, use the optional filters after results load. If the search produces no match, reduce extra fields before assuming the person is not in jail. A recent booking may still be in intake, a release or transfer may have just occurred, or the person may be in another agency's custody.

  1. Open the P2C Inmate Inquiry from the sheriff's jail page or by direct URL.
  2. Enter the person's last name. Forsyth's restricted initial search requires Last Name before public results load.
  3. Submit the search and review the matching cards. Use fewer fields if the result set is too narrow.
  4. Narrow the search with first name, middle name, age, charge, or arrest date when those controls appear.
  5. Open or expand the matching record to review charge, court, bond, agency, and release fields.
  6. If no record appears, call the jail's 24-hour line at 770-781-2226 or use FCSO Records/Open Records for documents not posted online.

The P2C interface can show a back button, text-search control, advanced search, filter icon, sort menu, active filter chips, Clear All, Load More, and see-more controls depending on the result view. Those controls matter because the first result card is often only a summary. Open the detail view before relying on the primary charge or total bond amount.

Forsyth County Roster Fields

The roster's search criteria were captured from the public P2C application and agency settings. Last Name is the only required field in the restricted first step. Other fields can help once the catalog has loaded, but they can also hide a valid match if the spelling, date, or charge wording does not match the jail record exactly.

Field LabelTypeRequiredNotes
Last NameTextYes, initiallyRequired in the restricted first search.
First NameTextNoUseful for common surnames after results load.
Middle NameTextNoOptional filter when available in the catalog view.
AgeNumberNoOptional field; use only when age is known.
ChargeTextNoSearches charge text, which may differ from court wording.
Arrest DateDateNoP2C submits dates in MM/DD/YYYY format.
General Text SearchTextNoAppears after catalog results load.

The default sort logic observed in P2C uses arrest date descending, so recent bookings may appear above older ones when browsing a result set. The interface may also display a count and "No results found" message. If a valid custody record is expected but does not show, clear filters, search with only the last name, and then call the jail if the result still fails.

Forsyth County Inmate Profile

A Forsyth County inmate profile is a public custody record, not a full criminal-history report. It may show identity fields, the arrest date, charges, court and bond details, and agency fields. It may also show a mugshot image when the record has an image ID and the sheriff publishes the image through P2C. Some fields are supported by the P2C model but hidden by Forsyth settings. Date of birth, home address, holding facility, traits, scars, marks, tattoos, arrest notes, property, release reason, and release time should not be promised as public roster fields.

FieldWhat It Shows
Full NameLast, first, middle, and suffix when present.
Mugshot/ImageImage component may load if ShowImages and ImageId are present; otherwise a placeholder can appear.
Age, Sex, RacePublic demographic fields used to distinguish people with similar names.
Height / WeightPhysical descriptors; weight displays in pounds when nonzero.
Arrest DateDate of arrest in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Court DateNext or scheduled court date when present, not a full docket calendar.
Expected ReleaseRelease-related field when available, subject to change.
Primary ChargeTop charge summary, which may not include every count.
Arresting / Booking AgencyAgency that arrested and agency shown for booking, which can differ.
ChargesName, description, status, docket number, bond type, bond status, and bond amount.
Total Bond AmountDisplayed because Forsyth does not hide bond amount in P2C settings.

A docket number in the charge table is useful, but it is not the same as the complete court file. Use that number, when present, to bridge from the jail roster to court records after a jail arrest. The booking charge may later be amended, reduced, dismissed, no-billed, nolle prossed, or replaced by a prosecutor-filed charge.

Forsyth County Custody Channels

Not every custody question has the same answer path. Forsyth County Jail staff control the local jail record and immediate custody status. FCSO Records/Open Records handles records that are not posted in P2C, such as some booking documents or booking photos. GDC, BOP, ICE, and VINELink serve different roles after transfer, sentence, or notification setup.

The Forsyth Co. Sheriff's Office mobile app is documented in Apple and Google app stores, but no app-only inmate roster was confirmed. Treat it as a community and sheriff-resource channel, not a substitute for P2C unless the sheriff later posts an app-only custody feature.

Forsyth County Jail Contact

Forsyth County has one primary full-service local detention facility identified in official sources: the Forsyth County Jail. It is the central booking and detention point for Forsyth County Sheriff's Office arrests, Cumming Police Department arrests, Georgia State Patrol arrests, and other agency arrests accepted into county custody. It is a county jail, not a Georgia state prison, BOP prison, or ICE detention center.

The jail page places jail and court security under the Sheriff's Office Constitutional Department. Security manages inmate housing, while Operations covers administration, inmate services, communications, resources, transportation, and programs. That division of work explains why a roster question, a mail question, a records request, and a court-security question may route to different staff even though all are connected to FCSO.

Forsyth County Booking Process

Forsyth County public materials do not publish a minute-by-minute booking schedule. The safe reading is process based. After arrest, the arresting agency transports the person to the jail, intake verifies identity and paperwork, property is inventoried, and jail staff create the P2C record with public booking fields. Personal smoking and vaping items are held with property if brought by an arrestee, while smoking items brought or mailed for inmates are not accepted and may be treated as contraband.

Booking can include a photo, medical or mental-health screening, and classification for housing/security level. Forsyth's public P2C settings hide the holding facility field, so the roster should not be expected to show a pod, tank, or cell location. Court and bond events follow booking. A court date or bond field may appear when available, but the exact refresh rate is not posted. If a new booking is expected and no record appears, check again and call the jail.

Custody flow: Arrest - booking - first appearance or bond review - county jail custody - release, transfer, or state/federal/ICE lookup if custody changes.

Forsyth County Jail Visits

FCSO links visitation and communication resources from its jail services material, but a current public notice also references inmate video visitation changes. For that reason, exact scheduling steps should be confirmed before a visit is funded or a visitor arrives. CTel/InmateSales is linked by FCSO for communication and video services. P2C FAQ settings also reference Securus for phone and video account setup, so the current sheriff page and vendor portal should control over older or alternate settings.

Forsyth County Inmate Mail

Personal inmate mail for the Forsyth County Jail uses a JailATM processing address in Atlanta, not the jail's street address. Address personal mail to JailATM.com - Forsyth County Jail, Inmate Name / Inmate Number, 925-B Peachtree St NE - Box 2062, Atlanta, GA 30309. If the inmate number is not visible from the public roster, use the jail line, JailATM lookup, or another official channel before mailing.

Note: Confirm custody with the jail before sending money, mail, or visit funds because release and transfer can change quickly.

Forsyth County Record Terms

Roster wording can be easy to misread. A charge is the listed allegation or booking/case label. A conviction is a final guilty plea, verdict, or finding. Bond is the court-ordered release condition, while bond status tells whether the listed bond can be used. A detainer or hold is another agency's request that can prevent release even when a local bond appears available.

Booking
Jail intake after arrest, including identity, property, screening, and record creation.
Classification
